Performer Recommendations

Page history last edited by Sharon Colvin 11 years, 6 months ago

Please list performers you love (with contact information and a few pertinent details) and those you'd not recommend.

As promised, here is the compilation of performers suggested by librarians (who handle LCC grants):
·        Ricardo Frota (Ecology of Sound)
·        Davis Bates and Roger Tinknell www.davisbates.com (recommended multiple times)
"Davis Bates and Roger Tinknell have written LCC grant proposals several
times for us and they are wonderful.  They arrive with full band set up
and sound speakers...tell stories and get the crowd interacting.  Love
them.  Sweet guys to work with."
·        Diane Edgecomb - storytelling (recommended multiple times)
·        Jungle Jim - Balloons, magic, comedy and Jedi Knight training (recommended multiple times)
·        John Porcino -music
·        Ed the Wizard (recommended multiple times) www.edthewizard.com "Ed the Wizard does a great job filing LCC applications.  His magic show engages the kids and their parents drawing many of the audience into the show to help with the magic.  He also promotes libraries along the way.  And he does workshops teaching the kids how to do magic tricks or make balloon animals.  I once had him in a small room with 50 people of all making (and exploding) balloon creations.  The man has nerves of steel and can control a situation bound for chaos."
·        Henry the Juggler  www.HenryLappen.com
·        Mr. Vinny's Little Puppet Show  toastandtuna2@comcast.net
·        Scott Jameson (recommended multiple times) "submitted the grant for us last year.  In addition to his very good magic show, he will include a before or after workshop for teens (for an additional charge). "
·        I had the Higgins Armory Museum's Roman armor person come to the library through the Cultural Council.  The museum was great to work with.
·        Gustavo Garcia Barragan (origami) jobb04@gmail.com
