Massachusetts Library Association Standards for Public Library Service
to Children in Massachusetts

 

The 2011-2012 Subcommittee to revise the Massachusetts Library Association Standards for Public Library Service to Children in Massachusetts invites the Massachusetts library community to comment on the revision of this document.

A few notes:

 

  • Please use the comment area below. Additions, edits, corrections - all constructive input is welcome!
  • We ask that you be as specific and clear as possible when referring to parts of the document.
    • Example: "Page 4, under Services, section 2.1."  
  • As much as the committee had reviewed this document for correct spelling, grammatical, usage, links, formatting, contact information, etc. there is always the possibility that we have missed something! Feel free to point out any errors you might see. We welcome all constructive input!
  • The public commentary forum will be open from May 10 - June 11.
  • YSS members will be invited to participate in an online vote to approve this document for a 3 week period in the summer. Details to follow.

  • Feel free to suggest any professional resources that might be helpful for this document. Please provide bibliographic information on book titles, websites, etc.

It would be wonderful to provide as many resources as we can to children's and youth librarians around the state!

Page iii, first page of Preface: remove "Children and Libraries: Getting it right" and replace it with "Twenty-first Century Kids, Twenty-first Century Librarians" (2010).
