YSS Meeting Minutes 12.16.2021

Present from the Executive Board: Carol Gafford, Felicia O’Keefe, Audrey Snowden

 

  1. Welcome!

 

  1. Nominating committee update: The one-person nominating committee is Caitlyn Moore.

Open positions are Vice Chair, Secretary, Conference Liaison. We are also working on the bylaws and are leaning towards leaving the term limits the way they are (six consecutive years on the board for executive board members, and no term limits for members-at-large).

 

  1. Conference update was postponed until next meeting.

 

Interlude for discussing members-at-large

Interlude for discussing later meetings, not at lunch. Every other month meeting, every other month lunch and learn?

 

  1. Newsletter: Carol and Audrey will be taking it on. The previous newsletter was done through Wild Apricot. The newsletter will be starting back up again in January.

 

  1. YSS continuing education/programming

    1. Lunch & Learn Series

Topics: What is hot with children right now? Collection development, library advocacy, etc.

There is interest in moving to an every-other-month cycle for meetings, with the off months used for Lunch & Learn.

 

  1. [General merriment] Everyone has different programming restrictions and COVID protocols.

 

Our next meeting will be the third Thursday of January, 1/20, at 1 PM.
