YSS Meeting Minutes 11.18.2021

In attendance: Katrina Ireland, Felicia O’Keefe, Audrey Snowden, membership! (10 total!)

1. Welcome!

2. Update about Bylaws

We are still in the process of updating. Felicia will be sending out a message in the coming week to get the nominating committee together. She will include information about the duties of the roles to be filled.

3. Conference update

2. Programs & collaborations

Conference committee is meeting tomorrow to go over the 77 proposed programs. Katrina will have more news after tomorrow, but the basic slate should be set by the end of the day Friday 11/19. 

We need to get the gift basket going soon. In the past, this has come from member donations, not from the YSS budget. Katrina recalls the ukelele basket a few years back was really good. Out of Print items are also good.

4. Magnets and calendars

We used to sell these, and that was our income as a committee. Felicia said Marissa just emailed her and will be sending Felicia all the leftover fundraising items. Katrina noted that YSS traditionally does a fund raiser every year, but is not tied into doing any particular thing.

5. Budget 

Felicia sent the budget to the executive board and noted we were not doing much, because we are still figuring out some logistics.

6. Newsletter

We have lost the person who was running the newsletter (Caitlyn Clark). Felicia is soliciting for input and feedback. We’ll aim to have it coming out, maybe quarterly, in the new year.

7. YSS continuing education/programming

There is interest in meeting in person once a quarter. Maybe we could do it as a hybrid thing. We could do “meeting and a topic”, half hour meeting and half hour topic. 

Our next meeting will be the third Thursday of December, 12/16, at 1 PM.
