2. Report from (past) chair

In general, the YSS meetings on Zoom are open and we will look for more participation in January via Zoom.

3. Report from conference liaison

At the last conference committee meeting, Katrina suggested switching to a model similar to museums/cultural institutions, where people could put the cost of a conference towards an MLA membership. The next conference committee meeting is this Friday. 

4. Appointment of new section chair

Lizzy McGovern was appointed as new section chair. 

Next steps:

Marissa wil inform the MLA executive board that the YSS section has a new chair. Marissa will also send said new chair, Ms. McGovern, a wide range and vast quantity of YSS materials for the chair of the board. Lizzy is completely up for this.

5. Newsletter

Carol will get in touch with Nora Blake about a newsletter. 

6. Calendars and magnets

Last year 24 calendars were printed and 11 sold; the remainder, and magnets, are still available for sale. These items do essentially fund YSS; the YSS budget was technically due in October, but has been postponed. Marissa will put Lizzy in touch with MLA Treasurer Bernadette Rivard.

7. Open discussion/general merriment

Carol is interested in gaming through Discord or Kahoot or Tabletopia, and suggested a mini fan-con at the next conference. We could explore an online event about virtual gameplay.

Come play games and meet the new chair and talk about different ways of virtual gameplay
